The Dallas / Fort Worth Cisco Users Group is a non-profit independent users group which meets on the first Wednesday of every month for the open exchange of technical information regarding the networking industry and Cisco products for the benefit of Cisco users.

	The long-anticipated version 8.0 for PIX will be discussed. New features incorporated in routing, high-availability, domain and LDAP authentication, certificates, secure desktop, access policies, SSL VPN enhancements, application inspection enhancements, access list changes, attack prevention and threat detection, NAT, intrusion prevention, secure logging and IPV6 support.

Cisco Study Groups

The last day to take the current CCNA tests is November 6, 2007 – one month away! The new exam contains IPv6, security, and wireless in addition to the current technologies! All the details of the current and new exams are on Cisco’s web site. Click here to go to the CCNA Home Page.

Coming soon – In case you can’t pass the test by next month, I am working with someone who wants to start a new CCNA study group. Come by the meeting or register on the web site to hear about the group when it is advertised.

Rent A Cert: A good idea for Cisco partners and cert holders?
Brad Reese on Cisco writes about Rent A Cert, a Web site launched a week ago: "Rent A Cert seeks to line the pockets of Cisco certification holders with extra cash, while simultaneously preying on the desperation of those in the channel who wish to improve their partnership levels on the cheap, to either Cisco Silver or Cisco Gold status (and the coveted partner discounts that go along with each status)." It's not illegal for Cisco cert holders to do this nor is it illegal for companies to simply pay these folks for the use of their names and certification numbers, but is it ethical? *Rent A Cert*
