The Dallas / Fort Worth Cisco Users Group is an independent users group which meets on the first Wednesday of every month for the open exchange of technical information regarding the networking industry and Cisco products for the benefit of Cisco users.

Our meetings are free to attend - all we ask is that you register as a member and work directly with Cisco equipment.

	Whitney release – 12.2(33)SXH release for the 6500 platform.. We will discuss the new train of Native IOS for the 6500 platform and its new features. This presentation should give everyone the information they need to decide if this new train of software would benefit them.

LAN switch security: What hackers know about your switches with Christopher Paggen - Contrary to popular belief, Ethernet switches are not inherently secure. Security vulnerabilities exist all over the place. Did you know that there are vulnerabilities in the control plane protocols like STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) and CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol)? There are holes in the data plane protocols, too, including ARP (Address Routing Protocol) and DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). The co-author of a Cisco Press book of the same name, Christopher Paggen, is prepared to tell you how to avoid these problems. Paggen is a technical marketing engineer for Cisco focusing on high-end firewalls.
