The Dallas / Fort Worth Cisco Users Group is a non-profit independent users group which meets on the first Wednesday of every month for the open exchange of technical information regarding the networking industry and Cisco products for the benefit of Cisco users.

Our meetings are free to attend - all we ask is that you register as a member and work directly with Cisco equipment.

Topic:	Cisco Nexus/UCS Layer 4-7 Performance Monitoring - With datacenter consolidation rapidly taking place involving the Cisco Nexus and UCS architectures, proactive performance visibility of these virtualized applications, combined with data access methodologies, becomes a critical, often-overlooked challenge. Lets meet this challenge head-on as network engineers who must continually fend off the blame for the performance problems and present ways to access and then proactively monitor performance deep into layer 7.

Speakers:	Rick Kingsley, Network Instruments, Inc., Territoy Manager- 19 years of experience serving the IT sector with packet analysis and performance management solutions at Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, and currently Network Instruments. A Packet-head to the core who is right at home with the DFWCUG members. Also, a Cisco-certified engineer with General Data Tech(TBD) will discuss specific Nexus/UCS access methodologies, while referencing their own leading edge Nexus/UCS Lab here in Dallas

Cisco Unveils Next Internet Core Router
Cisco Systems introduced its next-generation Internet core router, the CRS-3, with about three times the capacity of its current platform. At full scale, the CRS-3 has a capacity of 322T bits per second, roughly three times that of the CRS-1, which was introduced in 2004. It also has more than 12 times the capacity of its nearest competition. Using a CRS-3, every person in China, which has a population just over 1.3 billion, could participate in a video phone call at the same time. It could transmit the whole printed contents of the U.S. Library of Congress in one second and every movie ever made in four minutes, according to Cisco.
