| Outline |
|
Internetwork Expert has offered to
assist in developing a study plan and we will meet once a
month online with Internetwork Expert to discuss progress,
issues, and new topics that may need to be added to the
study plan. This meeting will help the group maintain focus
which will allow the group to be more productive. The first 24 weeks we will focus on
mastering the core topics on the CCIE R & S Lab exam. We
will utilize CCIE Routing & Switching
Core Lab Workbook from
Internetwork Expert. We will spend a minimum of 24 weeks
working these labs or until everyone is comfortable doing
them. Each member will have an opportunity to practice some
portion of the lab during each group meeting. We will focus
on strengthening everyone’s weaknesses. These are short
labs so we will have a pre and post assessment of the
technology we are working with that week. Pre lab will be
an overview presented by a group member. Post lab will be
an open forum discussing issues.
The 2nd group of labs will be 8 hours
in length. The group will use Internetwork Expert Volume II
Lab Workbook. Because each lab will take 8 hours to
complete, we may have two different rack rentals going on
simultaneously. The labs will be broken up by section so
that each member will have a chance to get hands on during
the group meetings.
Each member will have assignments
during the week which will require them to do research and
present material to the group. This may require members be
paired up with someone to research topics for the group.
On the first 10 6 hour labs; Each
member will (1) read the lab, diagram the network, develop
their own task/time strategy, (2) take turns configuring the
sections, and (3) decide on the tasks to complete as time
evaporates. Only on the 8 hour labs will we score the
results either that night or during the week.
Discussion during the group meetings
will be encouraged and each member will show respect and
professionalism to others. The meetings will be fast-paced
but we will not just skip over issue that the group doesn’t
fully grasp. We will track issues and questions on topics
and either address them to the CCIE-Group Study or through
the CCIE Forum at Internetwork Expert.
The cost of lab rentals will be shared
among the group and if materials are purchased that the
group decides it needs the cost will be evenly distributed
among it members. |

The
group will need to decide a meeting location on Saturdays
and work out the time frame. In addition the members will
need to decide if it is necessary to hold a meeting during
the week to discuss topics and issues before the group
meeting on Saturday.
We will
need to have some type of online tracking tool that each
member has access to so we can track activities and
projects. The format could be similar to the CCIE Forum on
Internetwork Expert. |
